Enjoying the ride

Seth "bribed" Ksusha to ride through the creek for a Slurpee. She's all smiles here showing off the "war wounds" she got from her wipeout in the water.

Two weeks after Ksusha learned to ride a bike with training wheels we decided to test our skills as a team and take a long trail ride. JoyeLoni and Dulci had the sweetest ride in the house.

Ksusha was determined to keep up with the rest of us and to say she did awesome would be an understatement!
Here comes Abe on his new birthday bike (with gears!) He jumps that thing like a pro!
Time for a break (and a picture). Everyone smile!

The Big Brother

Abram turned 7 and is totally into Pokemon, hence the cake... Happy Birthday Abe, we love you!

Bikes, Bikes, and more Bikes!

One morning this month Ksusha woke up and said, "Mom, I had a dream I could ride my bike without training wheels." I replied, "Really? I guess it's time to start working on it!" One week later she was doing it on her own.

Seth showed the kids how to set up a ramp off our driveway. Abram LOVED it, almost as much as his dad!

JoyeLoni

She always keeps me laughing. I have to keep a close eye on her because if I don't hear her go out the door she'll be two blocks away before I find her (or someone else brings her to me.) She's got spirit.

8 Months Old!

Our Dulci Dawn is 8 months old, my how time flies. She's trying to crawl but hasn't mastered it yet. She's very playful and since I told Ksusha that Dulci is much more active than I remember any of the others being, she calls Dulci our Activist.

Check out that tounge!

Empire State Building

Although we've been to New York City many times, this was our first time visiting the Empire State Building. After more than two hours waiting in line, we finally got there. Although the view was amazing we both decided it only needed to be a once in a lifetime experience for us. I guess Dulci will have to make that decision for herself a little later...

This is a view of Time Square from the Empire State Building. The glowing lights reminded us a little of Vegas.

The Statue of Liberty

Dulci lucked out because while her older siblings went back home to Washington, DC with Grandma and Grandpa Billings, she got to visit New York City with mom and dad! Here she is at the Statue of Liberty.

Scranton, PA

We traveled to Scranton, PA (home of the Office) to help pack up Adam and Becky who were moving to Utah. While there we climbed a couple trees and descended to an old coal mine. Now Ksusha know's what I mean when I tell her I'm getting her Coal for Christmas.

June 2009

This Month began with a Bang! Ksusha turned 5 and helped me make her Crown cake, fit for a Queen!
We had some excitement this month when a tree branch came crashing through our ceiling in the girls room. I took the above picture of the girls just minutes before it happened! Thank heavens nobody was hurt! Finally by the end of the month it was all cleaned up and the tree has been pruned. Whew! That was too close for comefort.

May 2009

Spring has sprung and the weather is beautiful. Some highlights from this month are bugs, cousins, and camping.

On a sunny (or at least partly sunny) day the kids were in the yard for hours hunting for bugs. Abram, Ksusha, and friend Boedy are showing off their catches.

We went camping over Memorial Day with cousins Ian, Isabella, Myla, Jazz, Nobu, and Jesse. The campsite was crowded but offered plenty of entertainment and amusement, (even if it was at 3 a.m.) Here's a bunch of Billings riding on a Ferry Boat.
My how time flies! Every month I take pictures of Dulci to see how she's grown. This month she's 7 months old! Milestones include sitting and starting new solid foods!

Welcome to the 21st Century!

Well here we are in June of 2009 and I don't know what's come over me but I've finally decided that I could probably handle a once a month blog posting. 21st century, here we come!

School is out for the Summer and I'm trying to plan fun and (for all you teachers out there) educational activities for my kids. Ranging in age from 7 to 8 months it's a little challenging but hey, if I can start a blog perhaps I can do anything...

So as a test I'll be blogging for the summer months and who knows, if it goes well perhaps I'll stick with it. Have a happy summer everyone!
